We popped up for a sneaky beverage on a Friday afternoon to watch a storm rolling through! Drinks weren’t too bad, albeit priced accordingly, but the view was certainly worth checking out!

The Nineteen at The Star is a fabulous fine dining restaurant and a Rooftop Bar located on the 19th level of The Darling. The restaurant occupies half of the floor to the right of the lifts, while the other half is home to a bar and nightclub. This setup allows guests to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while watching a breathtaking sunset from the balcony or return after dinner for more drinks and a lively party atmosphere. One downside is that all drinks in the bar are served in plasticware due to the proximity to the swimming pool area, which slightly diminished my enjoyment of the rosé, as I missed having it in a beautiful wine glass. However, you can start a bottle at the bar and finish it in the restaurant, where they have a proper wine glasses. The venue is luxuriously designed, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase spectacular views of the Gold Coast. The dimmed lighting creates a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The impressive kitchen is set behind a glass wall, allowing guests to observe the entire operation. We enjoyed all our starters, which included fresh and baked oysters, beetroot salad, and beef tartare—all beautifully presented and delicious. For mains, we had two steaks, Patagonian toothfish, and Moreton Bay bugs. The steaks and fish were cooked to perfection, but unfortunately, the bugs were overly seasoned on top, which masked the delicate flavor of the seafood. The side dishes were much appreciated, especially the pumpkin and mashed potatoes. And a chocolate treats that we were given after dinner were an absolute delight! Service was generally good, though it started a bit rocky as we struggled with a couple of young waitstaff. Thankfully, a knowledgeable and attentive gentleman named [my apologies for not providing his name] took over and took excellent care of us. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting for a special dinner and also offers breakfast and lunch service. Bookings are highly recommended, but sometimes you can get lucky with a walk-in table.

One of the best restaurants I've been to! Every single dish we ordered was absolutely full of flavour, it was honestly so hard to eat slowly. The standouts were definitely the steak (so juicy and tender) and the salmon (was a great choice to pair with the steak). Not only was the food amazing, but the staff were so, so kind and absolutely made the experience so fun. They recommended many favourite dishes of theirs too

A really lovely rooftop bar in Broadbeach with great views, a relaxed atmosphere and halfway reasonable drink prices for the ambience. Especially lovely at sunset and just after.

This was me and my partners’ first time dining with the Nineteenth. We were astonished by the quality of everything! Our steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were delicious too. The atmosphere was elegant and comfortable and we didn’t wait long at all for our food to arrive. We wanna give a special shoutout to Charlie who took care of us throughout the evening, he was kind and helpful, and surprised us with a free dessert for our anniversary. Bit pricey for us, but definitely worth the cost. We will be back very soon!

The Nineteen at the star was flawless. Perfect food, service, and atmosphere. Charlie was excellent. My partner denoted several times throughout the meal, 'this is akin to a religious experience'. If you like steak, fancy drinks, and a lovely experience, come to the Nineteen!
